So many amazing things originate from Tuscany! Did you know the adorable little puppet Pinocchio was invented there? There’s even a Pinocchio Park in the town of Collodi! And do you speak a little Italian or just love the sound of that beautiful language? Well, it was actually formed around the 14th century by a famous Tuscan poet named Dante. His work became so well-known and loved by the people, that they started publishing books and important documents in his same Florentine vernacular, which became the building block for Italian. Pretty cool! And If you’re a stargazer and know anything at all about astronomy, you can thank Galileo Galilei for that, who also was a prominent figure in Tuscany in the 1500s. Not only was he the famous astronomer who proved that Earth revolves around the Sun, but he was also a physicist and engineer at Pisa University and was an integral part of the history of science and philosophy. Tuscany is well known for its wines too. It’s where their famous dry red wine, Chianti Classico is created and immensely enjoyed. So, naturally…Tuscany has good food too! And just wait until you try this gourmet salmon dish, it’ll have you thinking of cobblestone streets, adorned with sunlit flowers blowing in a warm breeze and nothing but the open sky. Black pepper, garlic, creamy butter, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and cayenne pepper are some of the flavors you’ll be enjoying from this recipe. And they’ll pair perfectly with our Merlot Blush or Red Wine Blend.
