Looking for a day of outdoor fun? Excellent! Whether you’re lunching in the park with your friends or on your way to a trail-head for a day of adventure, we’ve listed a few things you’ll want to be sure to pack for some essential and savory pairings.

Candied Pecans

Not only are these little darlings nutritious, but they are tasty too—with a nice balance of woody sweetness. Most food stores will have them. Look for additional flavors like cinnamon, maple, and honey. Try them with our Rosella’s White Wine Blend.

Seasoned Salami

For all the food lovers out there who like LOTS of flavors, this makes for a great addition to your outdoor lunch! It’s easy to pack, easy to find, and you can even get it pre-cut. Look for smokey flavors, ones with peppercorn, garlic or a mix. There’s plenty to choose from. Pair with our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Herbal Baguette

Alone or with salami and wine, if you haven’t tried this one yet you sure are missing out! This is such a great sidekick to have on hand and enjoy. Most bread isles will have them. Ask a bakery at any store what their selections are. Pair with Rosella’s Red Wine Blend.

Gouda Cheese

Smoked, mellow, or sharp… it’s your call. Buy your Gouda cheese soft or hard, either way, it will go splendidly with your tasty baguette and salami. Impress your friends by taking along all the necessities to eat while in the outdoors. (Don’t forget the silverware, snack plates and napkins… and DON’T forget the WINE!)

Cinco de Mayo lands on Wine Club Weekend!

Whether you’ve been to a Cinco de Mayo celebration or not, you’re probably at least aware that
Cinco de Mayo is Nacho Average Party! and yeah, when it comes to talkin’ about historical celebrations, we’re all in for the fun sayings that go along!! So, what makes this particular event so significant? It’s recorded that Mexico won an unlikely battle of 4,000 Mexican soldiers against a French army of 8,000 at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862. The French had far more machinery and equipment, and so it was ‘Cinco Swim!’ Mexico’s inability to pay back European war debts eventually brought France to their door… BUT, it was a victory to remember for Mexico, who fought for the right to keep their roots strong. Traditionally, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated as a commemoration in Mexico and is a Mexican-American holiday in the U.S. …which works out great for us, because we’ve got an amazing taco recipe to share with you!

  Beef Street Tacos!!!

a little seasoned beef sirloin…

a little Chipotle-Lime Sauce…

a little Cotija cheese, crumbled for garnish…and Taco Bout a Party!

Wishing you could sample these tasties before going all in? Come by Rosella’s Vineyard for our May Wine Club release and pair it with our 2015 Cab, that’s sure to be “the chips to your salsa”!

Happy Drinko de Mayo!
